Maintaining your Unifire™ Grill

Maintaining your Unifire™

One of the standout features of the Unifire™ is its ease of maintenance. Our products are designed with both simplicity and functionality in mind. Follow these steps to ensure your Unifire™ remains in top condition.

Extinguishing the fire.

The safest way to extinguish the fire is to let it burn out naturally. To prevent ashes and charcoal from being blown away after the firewood has burned down, you can safely cover your Unifire™ with the Unifire™ Cover. It’s crucial to regularly remove any wet ash and leaves from the fire pit of your Unifire™ to maintain its integrity and performance.

Cleaning the cooking plate

The best time to clean the cooking plate is while it's still warm. After your cooking session, use a scraper to scrape off any leftover food particles. Then, apply a layer of oil and scrape again to remove any stubborn residues. If you encounter tough spots, try using ice cubes or sparkling water – these can help lift food remains easily. Finish by applying a thin layer of vegetable oil over the cooking plate. This not only cleans it but also protects the surface from corrosion, ensuring your Unifire™ is ready for your next adventure.

Maintaining your Unifire™ Multi-zone Cooking Plate

The cooking plate of your Unifire™ is crafted from robust black steel and requires regular care to maintain its quality. Properly baking vegetable oil into the plate is crucial to prevent corrosion. Once you've oiled the plate correctly, it will only experience very minimal corrosion over time.

If you're not planning to use your Unifire™ for an extended period, it's important to treat the cooking plate with vegetable oil every 15 to 30 days. Applying oil to a cold cooking plate can be challenging, so for convenience and efficiency, we recommend using a spray bottle filled with cooking oil or a pan-coating spray. This method ensures an even application and helps maintain the plate's integrity, keeping it in prime condition for your next outdoor cooking session.
